The movie
Gunsmoke was based upon Norman's novel
"Roughshod" and starred Audie Murphy
and Susan Cabot. The movie had its world premiere
at the Great Falls Civic Center in March 1953. Several of the movie's stars
travelled to Great Falls to attend the event. Hundreds of people gathered
on Central Avenue in downtown Great Falls to catch a glimpse of the movie
